How to Use
- Download the compatible thermal camera android app on your Android phone or tablet.
- Ensure your device supports USB-C OTG, then connect the TCView 512 securely.
- Open the app and allow permissions for camera access, storage and media recording if prompted.
- Select your preferred colour palette, emissivity setting and temperature range for the inspection task.
- Scan the target area slowly to identify unusual hot or cold spots in real time.
- Capture still images or infrared video camera footage for reports, customer records or follow-up checks.
- Disconnect the device after use and store it in a clean, dry protective case.

I bought this for property inspections and the 512x384 enhanced image is far clearer than the basic plug-in unit I had before. It picked up cold bridging around window reveals and damp patches behind plasterboard much more easily.

From a technical point of view, the temperature range and app controls are excellent for field inspections. I have used it for heating surveys, radiator balancing and underfloor heating checks, and the image quality is impressive for a unit this compact.
Very capable little infrared camera and definitely sharper than the cheap thermal camera options online. My only criticism is that you do need a decent Android handset to get the best experience, but once connected it performs very well.
I was looking at a FLIR One but chose this instead because the resolution was stronger for the money. I have used it for checking draughts, loft insulation gaps and pipe runs, and it has already paid for itself in saved time.
Used mainly for diagnostic auto work in my garage. It is brilliant for checking sticking brakes and heat build-up around wiring. The app is good, though I would have liked a slightly longer cable option for awkward engine bay angles.
